It was wonderful to have the opportunity to listen to Erin Jubas, COVT review the skill of
Visualization on Tuesday. Erin brings a passion and dedication to Vision Therapy that
makes her one of the strong teachers in the world of Developmental Optometry today!
In today’s iteration of Mastering VT, entitled “Mind's Eye Mastery: Advanced
Visualization for Vision Therapists”, Erin reviewed the benefits of Visualization, she
discussed a few strategies for getting started, and even suggested ideas for loading
and unloading your chosen Visualization activities. My personal favorites, which I
learned from Erin today, were the game Blink and describing the My Ape is Blue
sequence.
Visualization can impact many aspects of Vision Therapy, from visual memory to sports
performance, to visual sequential memory, and even in the recovery from traumatic
brain injury. It really was a treat to hear Erin share on a topic on which she clearly is
quite passionate.
Moving forward, we are excited to announce our next two sessions!
January 16 th , 2025 at 10am PST – Redefining Normal: Understanding the Unique
Needs of TBI Patients – led by James Smith, COVT
February 17 th , 2025 at 12pm PST – Solving the Many Facets of Mental Minus – led by
Robert Nurisio, COVT
As a reminder, our Mastering VT Educational Online Workshops (created by Vision
Therapists FOR Vision Therapists) will run monthly and can be viewed after the fact on
video. We are currently in the process of constructing our 2025 schedule so be sure to
check back often! As a reminder, a portion of each event will be a presentation on a
concept or vision therapy activity and then it will be opened up for questions and
discussion.
Emergent also offers a Vision Therapy Basics Course for our friends who are newer
to Vision Therapy, as well as an Advanced Vision Therapy Course which builds upon
the Vision Therapy Basics training and covers more advanced topics related to vision
therapy. Of course, I would be remiss, if I did not remind everyone of the Online Sanet
Seminar Series which I am currently in the middle of, which in a word is simply
magnificent!
Hope to see you all soon!
Robert
