Hey everyone!

It's Andy, here to share a tip from Dr. Winters' VT Practice Management Course .

In today's fast-paced business environment, marketing plays a crucial role in driving success. Yet, one of the most common mistakes many companies make is an inconsistent marketing approach—fluctuating between periods of high activity and complete silence. This kind of "YoYo marketing" might seem harmless in the short term, but over time, it can have a negative impact on brand perception, customer loyalty, and overall business growth.

Why Consistency in Marketing Matters

  1. Building Brand Awareness Imagine watching a TV show that goes on a long break between seasons—some viewers lose interest, others forget about it, and new competitors steal the spotlight. The same happens when your marketing efforts stop abruptly. Consistency keeps your brand visible and relevant in the minds of your audience. It ensures that people remember who you are and what you offer.

  2. Fostering Trust and Loyalty Regular communication with your target audience builds trust. When customers see you consistently providing value, offering solutions, and staying engaged, they are more likely to trust you. On the other hand, sporadic efforts can make your business seem unreliable or disorganized.

  3. Driving Long-Term Growth Marketing is an investment, not a one-time effort. Businesses that invest in long-term, steady marketing see gradual but sustainable growth. Inconsistent efforts, however, often lead to wasted resources and missed opportunities. Companies that only market when they feel like it often miss out on nurturing leads and turning them into loyal customers.

Note from Dr. Winters: Most important part of your marketing efforts.

  1. Pick a list of several marketing activities you are going to engage in

  2. Select how often you are going to do them

  3. Put it on the calendar

  4. Put someone in your office in charge of making it happen! (not the doctor or it won't get done)
